Extensive culinary background

A 1989 High Honors Graduate of The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, Christopher Lampo is a Certified Executive Chef by The American Culinary Federation and holds a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors from Florida International University in Hospitality Management. He is a Founding Member of the Culinary Institute of America’s Alumni Council Board of Trustees. His numerous awards and accolades include membership in the prestigious Les Amis d’Escoffier society of professional chefs, as well as Chaines des Rotisseurs and DiRoNA (Distinguished Restaurants of North America). He has also received the Les Amis d’Escoffier Award of Merit, is a member of The American Culinary Federation and The World Association of Cooks Society, and his restaurant, Christopher’s World Grille has received Triple A’s impressive 4-Diamond rating. Since 2006, Christopher’s wine list has been honored with an Award of Excellence by Wine Spectator magazine. Christopher spent the years prior to the 1999 opening of his restaurant working in respected establishments such as The Boca Raton Resort and Club, The Houstonian Hotel and Spa, Houston’s Restaurants, The River Cafe in London and Christopher’s American Grille in London. His experiences lead him to travel the world, including working as a chef on private luxury yachts in Europe, North America and The South Pacific. France, Italy, Australia, Alaska, New Zealand, The Kingdom of Tonga, The Kermadec Islands, British Columbia, Singapore, The Solomon Islands, Fiji and Indonesia were included in his travels. While working as a private chef, Lampo cooked for celebrities worldwide, including Michael Douglas, Mick Jagger, Robert De Niro, Denzel Washington, Debbie Allen, Dennis Hopper, Yoko Ono, Randy Quaid, Ivana Trump, Elle Macpherson and Naomi Campbell.

His experiences lead him to travel the world, including working as a chef on private luxury yachts in Europe, North America and The South Pacific.

Like Chef Lampo’s eclectic menu, the Christopher’s World Grille facility itself is a potpourri of good taste. The 100-year-old ranch house in Bryan, Texas features an elegant blend of historic features—like original fireplaces, leaded glass china cabinet, stained glass window, and oak floors—with a state-of-the-art banquet room facility that includes complete A/V capabilities and wireless internet. Lampo is a Culinary Institute of America Mentor and Christopher’s World Grille is an Official Culinary Institute of America Intern Site. He has been awarded Chef of The Year by the Brazos Valley chapter of the Texas Chef’s Association (2006). He has also served on the board of the local chapter of The Texas Restaurant Association. Christopher’s World Grille has been voted Best Chef multiple years and local Best Fine Dining Restaurant for 18 years and counting in The Eagle’s Reader’s Poll and the Best of the Brazos Awards. Christopher’s World Grille has also received the 2005 Bryan Rotary Club/Newman 10 Business Performance Award. This award recognizes and honors small businesses in the Brazos Valley community for their achievements and economic influence on the local community, and was honored with a Certificate of Recognition for Culinary Excellence and Outstanding Service by the International Wine and Food Society of Houston (2008). Christopher lives in College Station with his wife, Dr. Sandi Lampo. They have two sons, Luke and Dominic. Sandi is a Clinical Associate Professor in Marketing at the Texas A&M University Mays Business School. Being proud Aggies, Christopher served as a Student Manager for Jackie Sherill and the 1985-86 TAMU Football Team that won the SWC Championship for the first time in 18 years and went on to defeat Heisman Trophy Winner, Bo Jackson, and Auburn in the 50th Anniversary Cottonbowl. Sandi (Class of ’93) earned both her BBA in Marketing and PhD in Marketing from Texas A&M.
